In The Circle season 7 episode 5, contestants participated in the game: “Make Out, Marry, Murder.”Each player was required to select a fellow contestant to ‘make out’ with, one to ‘marry,’ and another they would opt to ‘murder.’
Kevin stunned the other cast members when he chose to marry his rival alliance member Rachel. Andy’s profile user Heather was puzzled by this choice, especially since she was allied with Kevin, and they were supposed to be against Rachel.
Rachel’s profile user Deb expressed her surprise at Kevin’s decision to choose her for marriage, mentioning that it might disrupt her alliance with Gianna. She remarked:
“Really, Kevin? That’s low-key weird… You think you’re gonna break up Rachanna!”
The synopsis for episode 5, titled Circle Wedding Crashers, stated:
“A secret profile swap leads to a steamy private chat, and a messy game forces the players to reveal who they’d wed, smooch — or take down.”
The Circle star Kevin explains his “Make Out, Marry, Murder”challenge choices
During the first challenge of episode 5, titled “Make out, Marry, Murder,”host Michelle Buteau guided the contestants on the rules of the game. Each contestant had to choose fellow players for the three categories.
“In today’s game, you’ll choose from your fellow players who you’d like to make out with, marry, or murder. Once the answers are locked, The Circle will disclose them one by one, of course, because it loves the drama,”the host clarified.
For his selections, Kevin opted to make out with Madelyn, marry Rachel, and murder Gianna. He explained that he chose Madelyn for the “make-out”because of their initial attraction.
Kevin selected Rachel to “marry”due to their developing friendship. He elaborated on his reasoning:
“I’m choosing Rachel for ‘marry’ because what’s a marriage, but a true friendship, of course? Rachel and I had a great convo today. We found out we have a lot of similarities, and this will solidify that relationship.”
Ultimately, Kevin picked Gianna for “murder.”Their rivalry escalated after both became the top two influencers in the previous ranking. During that time, Gianna persuaded Kevin to eliminate his own alliance member, Savannah, leading to his decision to choose Gianna for “murder.”Following the revelation of his choice, Kevin speculated that Rachel might be surprised by his pick.
“She [Rachel] might see that and be like, ‘Dang. Wow. I guess our chat did go well today,’”Kevin commented.
Kevin and Rachel’s conversation before the challenge
In episode 4 of The Circle season 7, Madelyn and Rachel were given a disruptor mode where they had to switch their profiles. Madelyn operated under Rachel’s identity, and vice versa. If Madelyn was eliminated while using Rachel’s profile, she would be out of the game, prompting her to repair relations with contestants who had conflicts with Rachel. She initiated her effort by having a private conversation with Kevin in episode 5.
Using Rachel’s profile, Madelyn apologized to Kevin, acknowledging her previous misunderstandings. Kevin was initially taken aback by a private chat invitation coming from Rachel’s profile.
However, he appreciated her reaching out and accepted her apology, requesting clarification regarding her previous stance during their group chat. Madelyn, via Rachel’s profile, stated:
“TBH I was standing up for my #CircleGirls but after my convo with Madelyn yesterday, she spoke really highly of you and I might have not given you a fair chance.”
Kevin responded positively, sparking a new friendship.
“That’s great! Honestly, I didn’t give you a fair chance either. So glad we got to have this chat and start this friendship!”Kevin replied.
