The development team at CD Projekt Red has recently teased the possibility of Gwent reappearing in The Witcher 4. CDPR, which has been working on this project since 2022, confirmed the transition of the franchise’s lead role from Geralt to Ciri, who is set to be the new protagonist, while Geralt is expected to make an appearance as well.

There remain several unanswered inquiries about The Witcher 4, although some insights have emerged from the developers following the game’s dynamic presentation. Adam Badowski from CD Projekt Red stated that the storyline will delve into how Ciri becomes a Witcher after the events depicted in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
