The highly anticipated series finale of 9-1-1: Lone Star is scheduled to air on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 8 PM ET on Fox. In addition, the premiere of 9-1-1 Season 8 is set for Thursday, March 6, 2025, on ABC following a midseason break.
8 Honolulu
State: Hawai’i
Following the announcement of the new series, Hawai’i emerged as a top candidate for the spinoff’s filming location. According to Deadline, Hawai’i is viewed as a leading contender for the spinoff. However, since ABC has not yet officially approved the spinoff, this remains speculative. The idea of a series revolving around first responders in Hawai’i, especially in Honolulu—the most populous city on the islands—is particularly captivating.
Transitioning the 9-1-1 narrative to Hawai’i would present an opportunity to diversify the franchise’s emergency scenarios, with its unique volcanic landscapes and tropical climate potentially leading to different types of incidents. However, fans should remain cautious, as filming in Hawai’i is often cost-prohibitive; budget constraints were a factor in the cancellation of CBS’s NCIS: Hawai’i. Furthermore, executive producer Rashad Raisani hinted at an ideal city that isn’t overly represented in TV land during an interview with TheWrap, stating:
“We wanted to find a city that also wasn’t so well known by other TV franchises. With Seattle, you’re looking at the Grey’s Anatomy universe, and with Chicago, you’ve got the Dick Wolf universe. So we did a lot of strategizing about a city that, hopefully, is exciting in concept, but not so well known by many other TV shows and franchises. I think that the veil will come off of that pretty soon.”
7 Boston
State: Massachusetts
With the likelihood of Seattle, Chicago, or Hawai’i being discarded as potential locations for the new series, Boston, Massachusetts, could emerge as an exciting choice. Several characters from the existing show have ties to Boston. For instance, Eli Cobb, a firefighter paramedic who mentored Chimney at Station 118, operates in Boston, and Mac Brandt’s character was featured in flashbacks that connect to Maddie’s storyline.
