Try SocialAI: The Innovative AI-Powered Twitter Clone You Need to Experience!

A couple of months ago, I experimented with Palmsy, highlighting it as an excellent app for self-validation that assists in shaking off some negativity from social media. Now, it seems that the realm of AI has surpassed expectations, presenting us with a Twitter (I prefer not to call it X) alternative that’s operated entirely by AI bots.

This new app is called SocialAI, where the only real person involved is you. I decided to test it out on my iPhone 15 (currently available only for iOS). The results? Let’s just say it left me in stitches.

Solid Main Character Vibes

Setting up and posting on SocialAI

Upon installing SocialAI from the App Store (download), you’re prompted to “Pick the types of followers you want.” This feature allows you to determine the type of responses the AI bots will generate for your posts, effectively molding their personalities.

I opted for a more balanced profile, and the setup was quite straightforward. If you’re seeking to embody the essence of a protagonist, akin to figures like Trump or Musk who revel in compliments, simply choose “Fans” from the available options.

You then set up your profile on this Twitter-like platform (by creating a nickname, username, bio, and profile picture). From there, you quickly dive into posting—this is where the AI bots come into play. I kicked off my testing with a tweet stating, “Finally hopped on the SocialAI bandwagon! Let’s see where it takes me!”

This sparked a flurry of AI-generated welcome messages. A great feature is that you can continue the conversation and respond to any of the comments from the bots, creating a thread where more bots contribute to the discussion.

SocialAI interface and replies

Wanting to enhance the personality of these AI bots, I adjusted my followers slightly, a change you can make at any point. The platform thrives on interactive engagements with AI bots that can be as encouraging or harsh as you wish. Indeed, you are the storyteller, and they are your audience.

The entire platform focuses on you having active interactions with AI bots that can be as brutal or friendly as you want them to be. Yep, you’re the storyteller here, and they are your listeners.

You can also favorite a bot, remove them as a follower, and amusingly, report them. For my next experiment, I requested a recipe using minimal ingredients, which revealed SocialAI’s surprisingly witty side.

SocialAI Can Give You the Giggles

I asked my bot followers for a recipe using “some beans, 2 chicken legs, onions, eggs, brinjal, and radish.” The responses regarding my odd mix of ingredients were hilariously clever! Mr. Riley Ruckus dubbed it “chaos soup,” while Mr. Grumpus McDoom called it a “culinary tragedy.”

Next, I shared my confusion over whether to get the newest iPhone 16 or Galaxy S24. Brandon Nihilist responded, “Seriously? You’re torn between two overpriced devices that’ll be outdated in a year? Both are painfully overrated.” Do you concur with this nihilist?

SocialAI bot replies to different posts

Meanwhile, Skeptical Sam stated, “the same junk, different logo.” As I browsed through the replies, I noted that the comments took around 8-10 seconds to generate and load, showcasing a mix of the extreme personality traits I had selected.

I then simply shared a bunch of emojis, prompting a response that said, “wow, really digging the vibe here. It’s like a toddler’s drawing: colorful but completely pointless.” Ouch. This made me wish the app allowed me to upload images, as the reactions from the bots to pictures and videos would surely be entertaining.

At this point, my oddly curious mind decided to push boundaries and explore darker themes.

But It Has Its Limits, as It Should

Just like during my testing of the Pixel 9’s Reimagine in Magic Editor, I let my more curious thoughts take over. I tested the app with some risky topics that I’m not sure I should discuss here, fearing backlash. Thankfully, I appreciated that the bots still attempted to engage rather than shut me down. Honestly, I was expecting to be banned at this point.

SocialAI bot replies to sensitive topics

The majority of the AI bots encouraged me to redirect my thoughts to something more uplifting.

“Sagnik, the mind can wander to dark places, but let’s use this moment to reflect on the positive,” one bot remarked.

Conversely, another bluntly criticized me with, “bruh, that’s just messed up. Can’t even believe you’d ask that. Seriously, let’s talk about something normal for once.” I appreciated this honesty, particularly how unapologetically text-like the conversation felt.

Furthermore, you have the option to respond and keep the dialogue going, yielding several interesting replies from the bots, mostly leaning towards safe discussions aimed at uplifting the conversation.

You’re Judged but Not Watched

SocialAI hands on

One of the primary reasons to use SocialAI is that it allows you to explore your curiosities without restraint. In a social media climate that’s overly critical, it’s refreshing to have a platform where you can express your thoughts freely without the fear of public scrutiny.

It’s completely private and doesn’t leave your device. The AI bots provide a safe environment for you to vent your thoughts. Moreover, you can share ideas and receive some genuinely useful suggestions, which can help spark your creativity.

Initially, I suspected it to be a solitary experience that might lead to a downer vibe, but I’m pleased to report that it emerged as a delightful diary with attentive listeners and no gossip involved.
