Two Top Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass on December 15

Overview of December 2024 Xbox Game Pass Departures

  • Forza Horizon 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider, two top-rated titles, will exit Xbox Game Pass on December 15.
  • Both games are currently offered at significant discounts for purchase ahead of their removal.
  • In total, 13 games are leaving Xbox Game Pass throughout December 2024.

On December 15, a couple of the most acclaimed titles on Xbox Game Pass, namely Forza Horizon 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider, will no longer be available to subscribers. Xbox Game Pass regularly rotates its offerings, with games being cycled out in two phases: the middle and the end of each month.

In a deviation from its usual practice, Microsoft is announcing all departures for December 2024 in a single update, likely in the spirit of the holiday season. This change reveals a total of 13 games scheduled to leave the service this month, including two of the standout titles on December 15.

December 15 will be the final day to enjoy critically acclaimed titles Rise of the Tomb Raider and Forza Horizon 4 on Xbox Game Pass. Forza Horizon 4 boasts an impressive overall rating of 92, while Rise of the Tomb Raider comes in strong with an 86. This news may dishearten fans, as these two games stand among the highest-rated offerings on the service. Keen gamers will want to act swiftly, as both titles are available at steep discounts for anyone looking to add them to their digital collection. Notably, Forza Horizon 4 will not just be removed from Game Pass, but will also be completely delisted from online storefronts.

The removal of Forza Horizon 4 is particularly significant due to expiring licenses, rendering this popular Xbox console exclusive unavailable for digital purchase thereafter. However, for those who still wish to experience the game online, physical copies will remain available, and the game’s multiplayer servers will continue to operate.

Besides the departure of Forza Horizon 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider, several other games will also be leaving the Xbox Game Pass service. On December 15, players will also say goodbye to Amnesia: The Bunker, Forager, Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan, The Quarry, and Tin Hearts. As the month draws to a close on December 31, additional titles such as Close to the Sun, Humankind, LEGO 2K Drive, McPixel 3, and the day-one title Party Animals will exit the catalog.
