In Path of Exile 2, players have access to a vast array of systems that enhance their characters’ abilities. Alongside Support Gems, Skill Gems, equipment bonuses, Ascendancy choices, and Passive Skill Points, Jewels play a crucial role by providing significant buffs when equipped in Jewel Sockets located within the Passive Skill Tree.
To effectively utilize Jewels, players must navigate to a Jewel Socket within their Passive Skill Tree. Adjusting your Skill Tree to acquire these sockets can offer substantial advantages, depending on the type of Jewels you possess.
What Are Jewels & Jewel Sockets In Path of Exile 2?
Jewel Sockets are unique slots found exclusively within the Passive Skill Tree of PoE 2. Approximately twelve nodes from each Class’s starting point, players will encounter these empty Sockets, which resemble those seen in the Gemcutting and Skill Gem interfaces.
As the name suggests, Jewel Sockets are specifically designed to hold Jewels. When inserted, these Jewels provide various enhancements to your character, activating beneficial effects that can significantly improve gameplay.
Each Jewel drops with randomly generated Modifiers, similar to regular items. These Modifiers can yield powerful Passive buffs, granting essential stats like increased resistances, attribute bonuses, and enhancements to Armor and Evasion.
To acquire Jewels in Path of Exile 2, players have a couple of primary options. You can farm high-level enemies, such as Rares and Bosses, for random drops. Alternatively, you can engage in the Trial of the Sekhemas, accessible starting in Act 2, where you can choose a Royal Chest at the conclusion. This chest guarantees a Jewel drop, making it a more dependable source compared to others. Remember, securing Keys during the Trial is essential to open these chests.
How To Slot Jewels Into Jewel Sockets In PoE 2
Equipping Jewels is a straightforward process. Players simply need to select a Jewel from their inventory and open the Passive Skill Tree with the Jewel highlighted. By dragging the Jewel to an available Jewel Socket, you can activate its effects.
Before a Jewel can be socketed, you’ll need to invest a Passive Skill Point to unlock the corresponding Jewel Socket. Once unlocked, players can freely exchange Jewels as they acquire new ones throughout their journey.
There’s no penalty for removing a Jewel. To unstack a Jewel, simply select it in the Passive Skill Tree and drag it back to your inventory, freeing the Socket for future use.
