The Season 6 update in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 introduces the highly anticipated Mutation mode. Last featured during the Season 4 Reloaded update in June, this mode divides players into two teams: human operators and mutants. The Mutation mode delivers a unique gaming experience, merging traditional human combat with extraordinary mutant abilities.

This article will provide an in-depth look at the Mutation mode in Modern Warfare 3.

Understanding Mutation Mode in MW3

In Mutation mode, both human operators and mutants possess distinctive abilities and strategies to outmaneuver their opponents. It’s essential to note that these mutants are not to be mistaken for zombies. They come with a variety of abilities that set them apart. Conversely, human operators begin each match with additional ammo and have the opportunity to gain kill streaks during gameplay.

Mutant Classes in Mutation Mode

In Mutation mode, instead of following conventional loadouts, mutants select from four distinct classes, each with its specialized abilities:

  • Mutated Leaper: This highly agile mutant can leap toward foes and enter a rage mode that boosts both movement speed and melee damage. Additionally, they have the ability to detect enemies around corners and deploy a snapshot grenade to reveal them to teammates. The Mutated Leaper excels in close-quarters combat and ambush tactics.
  • Radioactive Beast: A formidable half-dog, half-demon hybrid, this mutant charges at enemies with immense force. They can howl to enhance the health and movement speed of allies while utilizing heightened senses to track nearby adversaries on the minimap. This mutant class is perfect for penetrating enemy lines.
  • Contaminated Sludger: Specializing in area denial, the Contaminated Sludger uses a smoke grenade to obscure visibility and can unleash a corrosive acid blast at close range. Furthermore, they can create acid pools that hinder enemy movement and explode into mutant sludge upon death, causing damage to nearby foes. This class is ideal for disrupting enemy advance.
  • Camouflaged Sneaker: This mutant enjoys partial invisibility and utilizes an energy projectile to slow down adversaries. They can perform an electrified leap to ambush opponents after breaking stealth, making them well-suited for surprise attacks.

Mutants who achieve a high number of kills can also unlock the ability to transform into the Mutant Juggernaut, a powerful entity that can dominate the battlefield.
