Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War has finally unveiled the epic clash between Ichibe Hyosube, the leader of Squad 0, and Yhwach, the Quincy King. Although Ichibe appears to have vanquished Yhwach initially, the king awakens to reveal his ultimate power: The Almighty. This transformation leads to Ichibe’s defeat, bringing Yhwach closer to realizing his destructive ambitions. It now falls upon Ichigo and the Gotei 13 to contest against the Quincy elite and their king, but with Yhwach’s resurgence, the fate of the three realms hangs in the balance.

The Divine Power, The Almighty
Nine Years Later: Restoration of Strength
Following the intense conflict with the Shinigami a millennium ago, the Quincy Licht Reich faced near annihilation. In the aftermath, the Quincy King fell into a prolonged slumber, seeking to recuperate. The remaining Quincies suffered severe persecution at the hands of the Shinigami, leading to their near-extinction. Only a few clans, such as the Kurosaki and Ishida families, endured. The loyal followers of the king concealed themselves in a new dominion known as the Wandenreich, biding their time for a revival. They composed a prophecy, echoed in a hymn celebrating the return of their sovereign: The Kaiser Gesang.
“The confined Quincy King…
Regains his rhythm after 900 years.
His mind after 90 years.
His strength after 9 years.
And the world… in 9 days.”
Nine years prior, Yhwach stirred from slumber and began reclaiming his power through the Auswählen ritual, a process by which he forcefully extracts the abilities of those Quincy he considers unworthy. This enabled him to take the life of Masaki Kurosaki, whose energy bore Hollow traits, and Kanae Katagiri, a hybrid Quincy and Uryuu Ishida’s mother. With this acquisition, Yhwach initiated his path to full strength, ultimately opening his eyes and awakening his supreme capability: The Almighty.
The Almighty empowers Yhwach with the ability to visualize all possible future events, perceiving them all at once like grains of sand. This grants him profound knowledge of future possibilities, allowing him to set traps while outmaneuvering opponents with comprehensive countermeasures. Moreover, any ability he predicts will be rendered ineffective against him, as he can modify and shape the future to align with his desires. This encapsulates the essence of The Almighty.
“I could never have imagined… the extent of my sight even with my eyes closed.”
Through Future Acausality, Yhwach can alter impending events at will. Should his demise appear inevitable, he can manipulate circumstances to avert it. If any ability poses a threat, he can extinguish it before it manifests. Effectively, The Almighty bestows Yhwach with omnipotence. With such prowess, he becomes nearly unbeatable, as there is no strategy, understanding, or method to counteract his divine abilities. He reigns supreme as the Quincy King, The Almighty.
Yhwach had to endure a full nine years to restore his strength and unleash his capabilities; an earlier awakening would have led to chaotic consequences, jeopardizing his Sternritter’s abilities. Now, reborn as the ultimate force in Bleach, he can foresee and reshape the future, guaranteeing victory against the Shinigami and the Soul Society. With The Almighty awakened and the defeat of Squad 0, only Ichigo and the Gotei 13 stand between Yhwach and world domination in just nine days.
