Steel City Interactive has launched the much-anticipated December patch for its acclaimed boxing simulation, Undisputed. This update is set to significantly enhance the gaming experience with fresh content, quality-of-life improvements, and bug resolutions. Community feedback following the initial release of Undisputed has prompted this timely update, which is now accessible for players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
After a long absence of substantial boxing titles, Steel City Interactive sought to reinvigorate the genre with Undisputed, released in October. Despite nearly two years of early access, the game faced criticism, chiefly due to technical glitches and a basic career mode that left players wanting more. One of the primary complaints was the imbalance caused by overly powerful punches, which detracted from the online gameplay experience. However, following community input, significant adjustments were made in the previous update, and now patch 1.2 promises even more improvements.
In this latest update, players will enjoy the addition of two exciting venues: Cambrian Hall, which boasts a rich boxing heritage in London, and Atlantis, an immersive underwater setting. In addition to the new fighting locations, both Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are introduced with free outfits, allowing players to reenact their iconic match from earlier this year. Notably, these two heavyweight champions are scheduled to clash again on December 21, with multiple championship titles on the line.
Career mode has seen notable enhancements as part of patch 1.2. Players can now migrate between weight classes, offering the opportunity to become an undisputed champion across three different divisions using the same fighter. Additionally, boxing journalist Gareth A Davies has been integrated into the career mode’s media feed, a move that reflects the developers’ commitment to realism and authenticity. Quality-of-life improvements to the user interface have also been implemented, making navigation smoother.
Multiplayer participants will appreciate the further tweaks made to power punches. The stamina cost associated with missed and power punches has been slightly reduced, encouraging players to adopt a more dynamic combination and pressure fighting style. Furthermore, the addition of Cruiserweight, Bantamweight, and Light Heavyweight divisions to both quick fight and online ranked modes provides players with more options for competitive play.
