It Takes Two, developed by Hazelight, is a cooperative adventure game that has exceeded all expectations. This charming narrative follows a couple who, amidst their conflicts, find themselves transformed into dolls. When it comes to achievements and trophies, the game takes on a cryptic approach, leaving players puzzled due to the brevity and vagueness of the achievement descriptions. Phrases like “put on a show, and die trying”can leave achievement hunters asking for more guidance.
Among these challenges, the “Power Couple”trophy, which requires players to collect all other achievements, is particularly noteworthy as it remains absent from the initial lists. As of the latest update on December 16, 2024, players have the chance to unlock 20 unique achievements in It Takes Two. Many of these trophies are intricately designed and require specific actions, often leading to confusion without detailed guides. For this purpose, we’ve crafted a comprehensive guide that outlines each achievement with names and descriptions, aimed at guiding players towards uncovering every achievement. Guide to Unlocking All It Takes Two Achievements
A Daring Devil Achievement Guide
After defeating the Moon Baboon in Rose’s Room, players can discover a wind-up toy car positioned near a ramp with a hoop above it. One player should enter the car while the other winds it up carefully. Timing is crucial—winding too much could prevent the player inside from making it through the hoop. Successfully launching a player through this hoop will unlock the achievement.
Break The Bank Achievement Guide
Continuing along the storyline after locating the toy car, players will eventually find themselves at an area housing a piggy bank surrounded by coins. Fill the piggy bank completely, then jump on it and perform a ground pound to shatter it, unlocking the achievement.
Bug Sized Relaxation
Upon arriving at the Garden chapter and facing off against the Burrower boss, players will subsequently find themselves in a spa. To attain the achievement, both players should enter the bath waiting for them.
Faraway Frequencies
During the journey through Rose’s Room, players must navigate portal levels culminating at Moon Baboon. In the second set of portals, entering the gold portal leads to a pillow-based area where players must climb the tallest tower to locate a frequency machine. Adjusting each frequency will unlock the achievement.
Force Triangulated
Players can access a boat in the same vicinity as the Platforming Prodigy achievement. Once both are on board, they should exit the boat near a visible house, unlocking the achievement inside. Don’t miss the delightful reference to *The Legend of Zelda* inside the house where breakable pots contain gems!
Fried Friendship
In chapter two, players enter a tree where they must assist squirrels. During their adventure, a blue button will be encountered, which the scientist squirrel instructs them to ignore. However, pressing it sends one player into a chamber of torturous surprises, contributing to the achievement.
It Took Two
Embarking on the essence of teamwork, achieving this trophy relies heavily on collaboration. Completing the game together ensures that both players receive this achievement. While it can test friendships, it’s almost impossible to miss without guidance.
Look At Him Go
Within the same portal area as *Faraway Frequencies*, players will find a catapult later in the level. Cody must launch May to a platform above. Then, Cody should shrink down and May should ground pound the catapult, sending Cody into the stars to claim the achievement.
Lost And Found
During a later section, players will encounter a frozen lake with a turtle mother. To spawn her baby turtles, they must activate towers around the lake. Once spawned, players need to guide the turtles back to their mother, unlocking the achievement upon their safe return.
Meditation Maestro
In the Attic chapter, an outdoor area filled with clouds requires players to engage in meditation. They will find a tambourine with stools; by interacting with these, both players can meditate together, earning this tranquil trophy.
Minigame Megalomania
Players can easily understand the path to the Minigame Megalomania achievement as it involves locating all 25 mini-games scattered throughout the game. Many are easily discoverable by following the sound of a tambourine, but detailed exploration is necessary to find each one.
Mood Swing
Within the winter village, there’s a bell tower. After activating it, the surroundings will thaw. Below, players will find a swingset occupied by a character. Using their magnet powers, players can spin the swing—earning the achievement as it turns!
On Rails Experience
In a castle courtyard, a train will make rounds. To attain the On Rails Experience achievement, players must jump aboard the train. Success grants the achievement, and players can ramp up the fun by increasing the train’s speed!
Plastic Prison Breakers
As a nod to Hazelight’s previous title, *A Way Out*, players can obtain this achievement in chapter 3 during the pillow fort segment. Interacting with a nearby flashlight and locating two action figures, players must simultaneously ground pound on the buttons to unlock this nostalgic reference and the achievement.
Platforming Prodigy
In the Cuckoo Clock chapter, players will encounter a village with a Helltower. To achieve this, both players must simultaneously hit the buttons in front of the tower and scale it—the achievement is only awarded when both players reach the top.
Realize Your Art
In the castle courtyard, players will stumble upon an area with art supplies and a printer. To unlock the achievement, both players must jump into the back of the printer featuring spinning gears as they get flattened and printed out—proving their artistic flair!
Snackosaurus
Players will find themselves in a whimsical dinosaur-themed area where they must mount a dinosaur and ride through the level. The player controlling the long-necked dinosaur can use their bite to consume their companion, triggering the achievement.
Something Fishy
In the Snow Globe chapter, players must dive into water leading to an underwater station. Here, a minigame with harpoon launchers lets them catch fish. Feeding the captured fish to seals will unlock the achievement.
Struck A Pose
In the same area as the torture chamber, players will encounter a camera. It can’t be missed as it’s positioned in their path to the wasp nest. Players can interact with the backdrop and take amusing photos, which they can then display on the wall.
Terror Of The Seven Seas
In the vicinity of the *Something Fishy* achievement, players can also unlock this one. After resurfacing from ice, players will spot a pirate ship. Once aboard, they need to find and open a chest, which will reward them with a pirate hat and the achievement.
