How to Reach Xenlon in Dragon Quest 3 Remake
Following your victory over Zoma and the resulting credits, the game typically resets you to the moment before your encounter with the dark lord. A notable change occurs, however; by revisiting the Castle of the Dragon Queen, players gain access to a new area referred to as Heaven by the community.
Navigating to Cloudsgate Citadel
Your adventure to Cloudsgate Citadel commences at the Castle of the Dragon Queen. Head to the circular room situated in the northern section of the castle. Here, you will notice a quest marker above the faerie girl. Interact with her, then step into the brilliant beam of light at the center of the chamber to ascend.
The initial area you explore will be a vast green field featuring a Secret Spot and a cave entrance. Inside the Secret Spot, a Metal Slime Friendly Monster awaits while proceeding through the cave leads you through familiar dungeons. The journey encompasses the following levels:

Finding Your Way to Xenlon
Once inside Cloudsgate Citadel, you’re nearly at your destination. A red carpet trails south from the King’s throne, leading you to a staircase descending to a lower level. Following this path will bring you to an older man offering refreshments if you mention your intentions to seek Xenlon. However, this drink seems to provide no significant advantages or disadvantages.
Exit through the door located in the southwest corner of the room, leading you to the Citadel Tower. Prepare for a challenging ascent, as the tower is filled with formidable enemies. To increase your chances against Xenlon, it is advisable to be at least level 50 before the encounter, although level 58 has proven more comfortable for some players.
At the pinnacle of the tower, you will encounter Xenlon, recognizable by a lengthy staircase presenting itself before you. Prioritize equipping consumables and items into your party’s inventory before commencing the battle.
Unlocking the Temple of Trials in Dragon Quest 3 Remake
In order to have Xenlon grant your first wish, you must defeat them in 35 turns or less. Upon victory, fruition of your wish will be offered from a pool of seemingly five choices. A curious detail emerges, as a blank space lingers beneath the last listed option. Should you select this empty space, you unlock the entrance to the Temple of Trials.
Xenlon will express surprise at your knowledge of this hidden option but will proceed to fulfill your wish. They will then explain how to locate the Temple, characterizing it as a “tear in the fabric of reality.”
Entering the Temple of Trials
Xenlon instructs that to access the Temple of Trials, players must board Ramia the Everbird on Aliahan island and fly northward. This description succinctly conveys the necessary steps.
As you soar over the ocean, a brilliant light will capture your attention. Drawing nearer reveals a glowing prompt labeled ‘Enter.’ Interacting with this prompt will transport you into the depths of the Temple of Trials.
The Temple of Trials comprises five distinct sections resembling the points of a star. Herein lies a trial at each point, each governed by unique rules and presenting specific rewards. Completion of all five trials culminates in unlocking the sixth and final trial: a confrontation with the legendary Grand Dragon.
