Grinding Gear Games has disclosed exciting updates related to the forthcoming Path of Exile 2 patch. While a definitive release date is yet to be announced, players can anticipate detailed patch notes to be shared soon.

The eagerly anticipated early access for Path of Exile 2 debuted on December 6, marking significant advancements over its predecessor. Initial server challenges arose due to the influx of players; however, the game’s popularity soared with over half a million players logged in within just two days. In response to community feedback, the developer is prioritizing adjustments with this upcoming patch.

Significant Upcoming Changes in Path of Exile 2

New Gameplay Features

  • Players can now use fast travel between checkpoints within zones.
  • A lowered cost for respeccing Passive Points will encourage experimentation with builds.

Enhancements to Endgame Mechanics

The patch is set to improve survivability in the endgame. Notably, maps at Tier 6 and Tier 11+ will no longer impose additional elemental resistance penalties, ensuring a more consistent challenge across the endgame experience. Moreover, the scaling of Chaos Damage will be less aggressive, making for a more balanced gameplay experience.

Rework of the Trial of the Sekhemas

The Trial of the Sekhemas will also undergo significant updates based on player feedback. Notably, Honour Damage sustained at close-range will see a decrease of 35%. Furthermore, corrections will be made regarding bugs that unintentionally amplified Honour Damage from Damage over Time skills. Monster balance will also be recalibrated, such as Skitter Golems now self-destructing instead of initiating basic attacks.

Adjustments to Character and Items

  • Charm Modifiers on Belts will be more readily available and will now appear at lower levels.
  • Changes to skill dynamics, like making Electrocute harder to build but removing the Damage Penalty from the Support Gem.

Skill and Support Gem Balance

  • Improvements will be made to various skills, including those associated with Mace, Bow, and Chaos Damage over Time.
  • A new Tremors Support Gem will allow additional Aftershocks with a damage penalty.
  • The Support Gems for elemental exposures will see adjustments, removing damage penalties and applying a new Mana Cost Multiplier instead.

This patch exemplifies Grinding Gear Games’ commitment to player feedback by refining the overall gaming experience. Players can look forward to a more balanced and enjoyable journey in Path of Exile 2 as these changes roll out.
