Update 1.7.19 Now Available for Lords of the Fallen

Update Overview

  • The version 1.7.19 update for Lords of the Fallen enhances the responsiveness of the dash and roll mechanics.
  • Players can now enjoy improved blood animations in the cutscene following Pieta’s defeat.
  • Development of a sequel to Lords of the Fallen is underway, with an anticipated release in 2026.

On December 18, 2023, the 1.7.19 update for Lords of the Fallen was launched, focusing on enhancing game mechanics and addressing minor bugs. This update follows a major release on December 12, which introduced several highly requested quality-of-life improvements and balancing changes to enhance player experience.

Despite strong initial sales upon its October 2023 launch, Lords of the Fallen faced criticism regarding its challenging difficulty level and technical performance, particularly on PC. In response, the Hexworks development team has diligently rolled out updates and patches. For instance, the November 1.6 update added support for PlayStation 5 Pro and refined the tutorial for newcomers, establishing a more welcoming entry point for new players.

The recent 1.7.19 update specifically aims to resolve certain player experience issues within the game. Now, as players traverse the world of Mournstead, they can interact with Vestiges and Umbral exit points even when enemies are nearby. Furthermore, the update significantly improves the dash and roll mechanics, thereby enhancing player control and increasing responsiveness to enemy attacks. The developers noted that enhancements to the blood animation in the cutscene after Pieta’s defeat were made “by popular demand.”

The comprehensive 1.7 update released earlier in December was significant, introducing various quality-of-life enhancements. Noteworthy among these was the option for players to control whether newly acquired consumables would populate their Quick Access bar. In combat, the team adjusted enemy attack ranges, reinforcing their commitment to a balanced gameplay experience that still poses a challenge. Additionally, improvements in stamina management have resulted in more fluid character movement during both exploration and fights.

Looking towards the future, CI Games has confirmed that a sequel to Lords of the Fallen is in active development, with a launch projected for 2026. Tentatively titled “Project III,”the sequel aims to incorporate cooperative gameplay with shared progression and will feature a more commercially appealing narrative and art style, alongside elevated production values. While specific details are still under wraps, fans are eagerly anticipating a full reveal scheduled for 2025.
