The Legendary Core, also referred to as the Legendary Fusion Core, stands as one of the rarest rewards in the game Warframe. Its exceedingly low drop rate, combined with its availability through time-restricted sources, means that only a small percentage of players have actually managed to acquire one. It’s not uncommon for even seasoned veterans who have invested countless hours into the game to never encounter this elusive item.

This significant scarcity means that many players who have progressed significantly through mid-game content may have never heard of a Legendary Core or been aware of its functionalities within Warframe.

A Legendary Core serves as a unique consumable item allowing players to fully upgrade the rank of any mod without incurring the usual resource costs. When you possess a Legendary Core, you can utilize it during the mod upgrade process by selecting it in the bottom right corner, replacing the typical requirement of Credits and Endo.

For players new to the game, it’s important to note that upgrading mods in Warframe necessitates both Credits and Endo, with the cost escalating alongside each mod rank. While the expenses for common mods like Point Blank and Split Chamber are generally manageable, the requirements for higher-rank mods—such as Vitality, Serration, Narrow Minded, and Blind Rage—significantly increase.

To illustrate, the cost to fully rank up Primed mods, which are rare and typically acquired via Baro Ki’Teer, can reach almost 2 million Credits and 40, 000 Endo. This is precisely where the Legendary Core proves advantageous, as it simplifies this process regardless of mod rarity or rank, enabling you to max out any selected mod without the daunting resource demands. Ideally, this item is most valuable when used to max out an unranked Primed mod.

How to Obtain Legendary Cores in Warframe

Players can only obtain Legendary Cores through Archon Hunts (with a 0.18% drop chance) or via Sorties (offering a 0.19% chance) upon successful completion of all three missions. Occasionally, they may also be awarded as part of event rewards or Twitch drops, such as those from last year’s QTCC Campaign.

Additionally, Legendary Cores can be traded between players, with the current market value hovering around 100 Platinum. However, purchasing one may not be the wisest choice unless you view it as a trophy item, as there are now widely known strategies for farming Credits and Endo efficiently, making these resources more accessible than ever before.
