WayV’s Hendery Responds to Allegations Regarding Hangouts with Women and Former NCT Member Lucas: “I’ll Live Well and Not Let Everyone Worry About Me”

On September 19, WayV’s Hendery addressed an internet user’s concerns regarding his recent get-together with women and former NCT member Lucas. He expressed gratitude to his fans for their concern and clarified the nature of the meeting.

“Thank you for everyone’s concern. I’m really grateful that you’re worrying! It was just a gathering among friends and normal socialization. I’ll live well and not let everyone worry about me. I hope everyone is having a good time every day.”

Hendery’s statement followed his sighting at a bowling alley with Lucas and several women. An internet user took a photo and commented:

“I came to bowl, but it looks like Hendery came to bowl with some girls.”

While the tweet did not garner significant reactions, numerous fans expressed their dissatisfaction, especially as NCT is currently facing controversy linked to former member Taeil’s sexual harassment allegations. For context, WayV is a subunit of NCT.

NCT is currently dealing with former member Taeil’s sexual harassment allegations

In June 2024, a woman filed a criminal complaint against NCT’s Taeil, although the specific details of the alleged offense have not been disclosed. Following these allegations, SM Entertainment announced on August 28 that Taeil would be removed from the group. Reports indicate that Taeil has cooperated with the police investigation, with further details expected as the case unfolds.

In an official statement, SM Entertainment confirmed Taeil’s removal from the group:

“This is SM Entertainment. We have recently confirmed that Taeil has been implicated in a criminal case related to sexual crimes. While looking into the situation, we recognized that the issue is very serious, and we have decided that Taeil could no longer continue team activities. We have discussed this matter with Taeil and it has been decided he will be removed from the group.”

Following the announcement, Taeil made his Instagram account private and reduced the number of accounts he follows, resulting in a loss of over 1.1 million followers. Additionally, SM Entertainment has excluded Taeil from all NCT-related materials.

On September 13, the Seoul Bangbae Police Station reported that the case has been referred to the prosecution; however, Taeil has not yet been apprehended. The sexual assault case involving Taeil remains under investigation.
