‘Why Voting for Kamala Harris Matters’: Elon Musk Shares His Views on Potential Consequences of Her Election Win

Elon Musk is throwing his full support behind Donald Trump for the upcoming 2024 presidential election. His commitment to Trump might stem from concerns over his own future should Kamala Harris emerge victorious in the race.

During a conversation with Tucker Carlson, Musk elaborated on his political stance. Carlson remarked, “If he loses, man, you’re f-ed, dude.” Musk chuckled at this comment, humorously quipping, “How long do you think my prison sentence is going to be? Will I get to see my kids? Who knows?”

Musk appears to be utilizing his platform as many social media users joke about wanting to see him incarcerated. One Twitter user playfully tweeted, “another reason to vote Kamala,” which has received over 431,000 likes and continues to grow—while other users express similar humor.

In a more serious tone, Musk voiced his concerns regarding immigration during the interview. He cautioned that if Donald Trump fails to win this election, “it’s the last election we are going to have.” This assertion comes despite his own Twitter account amplifying misleading information through reposted tweets.

Is jail time a real possibility?

Given Musk’s nervous laughter during the Carlson interview, is actual incarceration in his future? He has made some aggressive jokes about Kamala Harris throughout the campaign, but this may not be the main issue he faces. Prosecutors in Philadelphia have already filed a lawsuit against Musk and his organization, America PAC, for what they claim to be an illicit lottery. The sweepstakes promoted by Musk asserted that he would offer a million dollars to random voters in swing states. While this isn’t direct vote-buying, Musk’s actions could sway voters in favor of his chosen candidate, whom he openly supports.

The Department of Justice has cautionary words for Musk and America PAC, suggesting that the lottery might violate federal election laws. The most severe consequences could involve up to five years of imprisonment and a $10,000 fine. Although this fee may not be significant for one of the wealthiest individuals globally, at least Musk now has a theoretical idea of how many years he could face behind bars.
