Wishlist of Strategists for Marvel Rivals

With its recent launch, Marvel Rivals has introduced an impressive roster of more than 30 diverse heroes. Players can embody iconic characters such as Iron Man, who wreaks havoc on foes, or Groot, whose thorny barriers offer unique protection. Other options include Jeff the Land Shark, able to engulf teams, and Wolverine, who brings his notorious combat skills to the game. This variety caters to a multitude of play styles, although enthusiasts of healing roles may find the selection somewhat lacking.

The current pool of Strategist characters in Marvel Rivals remains on the sparse side, offering only seven options. While recognizable names like Loki and Rocket Raccoon grace the lineup, many of the others are lesser-known, potentially discouraging players from embracing the role. Fortunately, NetEase Games has access to an extensive roster of Marvel characters, which they could leverage in incoming updates to enhance the Strategist category significantly.

Beast: A Solid Contender for the Strategist Role

Among the most suitable candidates for the Strategist position is Beast. An integral member of the X-Men, Beast applies his scientific expertise to aid his teammates during challenging scenarios. Renowned for his proficiency in biochemistry and genetics, he not only serves as the X-Men’s doctor but also imparts knowledge at the Xavier Institute.

Given these credentials, it’s almost a given that Beast would make a compelling addition to the Strategist roster. He could potentially utilize various vials of experimental substances to heal allies or wield a specialized weapon designed for this purpose. Additionally, his remarkable strength could transition into tank-like capabilities, featuring an increased health pool, shielding options, and even self-healing abilities. Imagine a character akin to The Incredible Hulk, but also possessing healing powers for his companions; this would render Beast nearly unstoppable on the battlefield.

Shuri: An Ideal Strategist to Join the Fray

As both Black Panther and Wakanda play pivotal roles in Marvel Rivals, it raises questions about the absence of other significant characters from Wakanda. However, future updates may address this gap, particularly through the inclusion of Shuri, T’Challa’s sister, who is recognized as the foremost scientific genius of the nation.

Shuri’s intelligence makes her a natural fit for the Strategist role. Using her ingenious inventions, she could enhance her teammates’ defenses and bolster their capabilities. Furthermore, as a proficient martial artist, Shuri could prove formidable in combat situations. Should NetEase take cues from sources beyond the MCU, there’s potential for her character to possess awe-inspiring abilities, such as reviving fallen comrades or developing protective measures like stone skin.

Agatha Harkness: Redefining the Healer Role

For players who are intrigued by the prospect of a more sinister healer, Agatha Harkness stands out as an excellent option—particularly following the launch of her own Disney Plus series. Agatha has a longstanding history of harnessing potent magic to enhance her survival and overpower adversaries. Her ability to manipulate magical forces and absorb others’ magic could give rise to a distinct healing approach.

Envision Agatha possessing the capability to drain lifeforces from enemy heroes to rejuvenate her allies. This unique mechanic would create immersive gameplay as both teammates and opponents would need to navigate strategies to either protect or pursue her, resulting in a dynamic cat-and-mouse experience that’s typically absent from traditional healer roles. If executed adeptly, she could emerge as one of the most innovative characters in the game.

In addition to Beast, Shuri, and Agatha, numerous other characters could enrich the Strategist role in Marvel Rivals. For example, Wong could present a strategic variation of Doctor Strange, Ultron might command robotic forces to support the team, and Professor X could exert mind control over adversaries. Current Strategists like Rocket and Luna Snow prove that with the right development, virtually any hero could seamlessly transition into this pivotal role.
