The narrative arc of World of Warcraft: The War Within continues to expand. Following the recent Siren Isle update, players can anticipate the launch of Season 2 in 2025, which promises fresh endgame experiences and further developments in this expanding saga. Meanwhile, Patch 11.0.7 has introduced a variety of new story quests designed to pave the way for Patch 11.1, which will focus on the Goblin capital city of Undermine. Additionally, a series of quests will address the emotional fallout from the destruction of Dalaran, although these will not be immediately accessible.
Spoilers ahead—proceed with caution!
Initiating the Patch 11.1 Prologue
In contrast to the Dalaran Epilogue, players can dive into the Lingering Shadows campaign without prerequisites; completion of either the leveling campaign or the Level 80 campaign is not required. However, for those who wish to avoid spoilers or understand the story context fully, it is recommended to catch up first. The Lingering Shadows campaign features the following quests:
- Lingering Shadows
- Price of a Mission
- Standing in the Way
- No Breathing Room
- Together, Alone
- The Voice
- Ringing in the Deeps
- Good Help These Days
- Hey, What’s Going On?
- Haywired and Hostile
- Built to Blast
- Bat Versus World
- Found Friends
Upon finishing the quest Found Friends, it’s essential to speak with Orweyna. Though her quest is not part of the main campaign, it provides valuable insights regarding plot developments that may arise in future installments of The War Within or in subsequent expansions of the World Soul Saga.
Commencing the Dalaran Epilogue in World of Warcraft: The War Within
Currently, access to the Dalaran Epilogue questline is gated by time constraints, with availability scheduled for January 7, 2025. Additionally, players must have completed both the leveling campaign and the Level 80 campaign, which requires achieving a Renown Four standing with all four Khaz Algar factions.
If you are unsure about your progress, visit Foundation Hall, where you begin the prologue quests for the upcoming Patch 11.1. Should you spot Khadgar, a quest will unlock once January 7 arrives. In the absence of Khadgar, it indicates that additional campaign quests are still pending. Once the campaign launches, a complete quest list will be updated here for reference.
