Wuthering Waves 1.3 Livestream Recap: New Characters, Area Updates, and More Exciting Features

Kuro Games has just unveiled the special broadcast detailing the highly anticipated Wuthering Waves 1.3 update, set to launch on September 29, 2024. This next chapter in the rover’s adventures will take players to the mysterious island of the Black Shores, which is poised to be one of the most significant additions to the game. As previously hinted in marketing, the iconic characters The Shorekeeper and Youhu will make their playable debut in this version.

In addition to the new area and characters, Kuro Games has introduced several gameplay events and a new story chapter associated with the Black Shores.

Wuthering Waves 1.3 Livestream Overview

New Resonators

Youhu and The Shorekeeper will expand the playable character roster in the upcoming Wuthering Waves 1.3. Youhu, interested in antiques from Huanglong, will be featured as a 4-star character. She can buff party members and her Resonance Liberation offers a unique QTE mechanic.

The Shorekeeper, featured as a 5-star character, excels in team sustainability. She possesses the ability to transform into a butterfly, enabling swift traversal across the map.

New Weapons

The upcoming update will introduce a fresh set of 4-star weapons obtainable through the Convene System. Additionally, The Shorekeeper will have access to her top-tier weapon for a limited time. The weapons launching with this update include:

Stellar Symphony (5-star)
Deep Sky Blazar weapon series (4-star)

New Area: Black Shores

The enigmatic island of Black Shores is now accessible for adventurous Rovers eager to uncover its secrets. Players will explore this mysterious terrain alongside the Black Shores Organization.

A range of new gameplay mechanics will accompany the island’s introduction, including portals, intricate puzzles, and more.

New Resonator Story Quest

The charming Black Shores member, Encore, will feature in her specific story quest during the Wuthering Waves 1.3 update. Players will meet her in Jinzhou and embark on a unique adventure in the fanciful realm of Woolies.

Her quest, titled Small Wooly, Big Adventures, will be available once version 1.3 is live.

New Echo

Kuro Games has introduced a new formidable enemy waiting on the Black Shores, known as Fallacy of No Return. This undead creature serves as a skill check for players exploring the island. Defeating it will enable players to unlock this new echo, which can unleash a barrage of punches against opponents.

Besides the Fallacy of No Return, players can also encounter two additional shiny phantom echoes, The Gulpuff and Lumiscale Construct, once the update goes live.

New Challenges

The Wuthering Waves 1.3 update will introduce two new challenges for Rovers to engage in and claim various rewards, including Astrites.

One challenge, titled Retro Game Collector, requires players to gather Retro Cartridges scattered throughout the Black Shores. After submitting them at a Data Hub, players must confront enemies to earn rewards. Submitting more cartridges increases the challenge difficulty and offers better rewards.

Additionally, another new challenge called Tactical Hologram, named The Inferno Rider, will debut in the Wuthering Waves 1.3 patch.

Events and Rewards

The Wuthering Waves 1.3 patch will also introduce a series of fresh and returning events, granting players rewards such as Astrites, Shell Credits, and more:

Gifts of Sea Breeze: A 7-day login event offering 5x Radiant and 5x Lustrous Tides.
Where Star Slumbers: An exploration event that rewards players based on achievements in The Black Shores.

Quality of Life Updates and Performance Optimizations

Kuro Games has announced various optimizations to improve gameplay, set to be included in the Wuthering Waves 1.3 patch.

Enhanced camera angles and lock-in system
Improved controller compatibility for mobile devices
Direct teleportation to tracked objectives, including quests and enemies
A new feature for marking resource-rich areas; marking the next area upon collection
A map panel for easier navigation across the expansive game world
A new summary feature providing a brief story overview for players who skip dialogues
Visibility of unlock requirements for specific events
Ability to mark echoes as Discarded, prioritizing them during scrapping and enabling batch Data Merge
User interface optimization across various menus.

Additionally, further system optimizations will be integrated in the Wuthering Waves 1.3 update that Kuro Games has yet to disclose.
