Recently, a number of gamers have reported an alarming trend where several Xbox titles have mysteriously disappeared from their digital libraries. Although it is not uncommon for games to be delisted, the unanticipated removal of purchased games raises concerns for Xbox enthusiasts.

Since the launch of the Xbox Games Store in 2005, players have enjoyed the convenience of purchasing digital titles across various Xbox systems. Following the discontinuation of the Xbox 360 digital store earlier this year, Microsoft has continued to offer an extensive library of games through the Microsoft Store on current consoles since 2017.

Affected titles include several indie games and downloadable content (DLC): Bard’s Gold (Xbox One version), Black and White Bushido, Knight and Mourning, River City Girls 2: Double Dragon (DLC), and Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. A user identified as UpstairsNo9249 shared on social media that Microsoft seems to be conducting compliance checks, inadvertently causing some titles to be hidden from the store. This act not only removes visibility from the storefront but also from player libraries, effectively preventing owners from accessing their previously purchased games.

Additionally, UpstairsNo9249 mentioned some other titles that have disappeared long before this recent incident, such as Project Downfall, Polychromatic, Oniria Crimes, and localized versions of One Step After Fall.

It is crucial for Microsoft to resolve these issues promptly. Many Xbox gamers rely on subscription services like Xbox Game Pass to access their favorite titles, especially considering that consoles like the Xbox Series S do not support physical media. An issue like this can severely undermine players’ confidence in Microsoft’s digital marketplace.
