Examining the Dangerous Rhetoric in Current Political Discourse
As a woman concerned about the implications for my bodily autonomy, the recent election was particularly distressing. Each announcement affirming Donald Trump’s continued influence felt like a setback to our collective empathy and compassion. It quickly became clear that the primary ambition of Trump’s supporters revolved around control.
Individuals like Nick Fuentes, a political streamer touting extreme right-wing views, exemplify this alarming trend. Just one day after the election, Fuentes dismissed the fears of those apprehensive about a second Trump administration, declaring, “Your body, my choice. Forever.” It’s unsettling to think that a 26-year-old who appears disinterested in basic self-grooming believes he has jurisdiction over women’s bodies.
This mindset reveals a fundamental truth: the opposition has never truly cared about “protecting babies”as they claim. The arguments against abortion have been debunked repeatedly, proving that it has always been about exerting influence over women’s choices. The disdain directed at Kamala Harris was steeped in sexism, as the genuine reasons for their opposition were cloaked in a lack of research and understanding of the policies at play.
The narratives from the MAGA faction were rooted in self-serving interests, designed to amplify their voices while drowning out others. Figures like Fuentes represent a disturbing aspect of society—akin to the petulant child who misbehaves when he doesn’t get his way.
The Risks Posed by Empowered Far-Right Figures
The perception of threats posed by men like Fuentes is often trivialized. Yet, his online antics illuminate a concerning trend of aggressive behavior towards marginalized groups. Watching these individuals exploit social media platforms to target and belittle those they deem “inferior”reveals a toxic mindset that equates dominance with worth.
Fuentes’ recent remarks on X illustrate this mentality perfectly: “I’d just like to take the opportunity to thank men for saving this country from stupid bitches who wanted to destroy the world to keep abortion.” These words reflect not just careless arrogance but a deeply flawed view of masculinity. The derision in his tone only underscores his immaturity.

Moreover, Fuentes shared a video depicting schoolboys asserting control over their female peers with the remark “Your body, my choice.” This raises serious questions: Where are the educators and parents during these formative conversations? Such incidents highlight the problematic rise of hatred and misinformed beliefs among young men in Generation Z, exacerbated by a lack of proper guidance regarding social responsibility.
It’s disheartening to see figures like Fuentes, who falsely believe they hold any semblance of power. His proclamations are nothing but the bravado of someone desperate for importance. I firmly reject the notion that such individuals possess the authority to dictate my existence. My choices are mine alone—unyielding and unapologetic, just as their misguided ideologies remain unchanged.
