In a move celebrated by players, HoYoverse has unveiled a major hotfix for Zenless Zone Zero on December 26, aimed at rectifying various gameplay challenges impacting user enjoyment after the recent Version 1.4 release. The past month has been pivotal for HoYoverse, not only launching this significant update but also receiving nominations for two accolades at The Game Awards 2024 and teasing new character introductions.
Version 1.4 stands out as one of the most ambitious updates in the live-service title’s history, successfully progressing the overarching narrative that began at launch. This update introduced two new agents to the game, including the eagerly awaited Hoshimi Miyaba and the free-to-acquire Asaba Harumasa. Enhanced features, new events, and vibrant locations were also part of this update, alongside improvements for the PS5 Pro. Unfortunately, along with these exciting additions came a handful of unintended technical hiccups.
The December 26 hotfix specifically targets several key issues in the game. One notable enhancement involves the “Hollow Zero: Lost Void”mode, which offers fresh rewards and features but was earlier plagued by bugs. This latest patch resolves a variety of concerns, such as incorrect sound effects, problems with Bangboo View Mode, display errors for certain icons, and various glitches related to Resonia, among other fixes.
The patch not only enhances the “Hollow Zero: Lost Void”mode but also fine-tunes various gameplay elements, addressing issues related to boss encounters, user interface functionality, and mission completion obstacles. Additionally, Version 1.4 introduced a unique feature enabling players to engage in quality time with their preferred agents throughout New Eridu, expanding upon the game’s Agent Trust Event system. This hotfix aims to amass several bug resolutions, which hampered player experiences, such as inconsistencies in voice line triggers, non-functioning selfie modes, and inaccuracies in Trust rank progression.
Despite the multitude of new features introduced in Version 1.4, fans can anticipate even more from HoYoverse in the future. During The Game Awards 2024, the development team hinted at two upcoming S-Rank Agents, Astra Yao and Evelyn Chevalier. Leaks and unofficial sources have speculated about Version 1.5, suggesting the arrival of a new agent storyline, additional free banner pulls, and the possibility of an alternate skin for Nicole Demara.
